Explain the project in plain language
Describe the audience, nutritional positioning and target market. State whether you already have a formula or want to discuss development support. A short, clear description is more useful than a long list of unrelated references.
Separate preferences from requirements
Identify the elements that are essential and the ones you are open to discussing. A preferred flavour or pack style can be treated differently from a required destination market or a specific material restriction.
Share the commercial context
Include an estimated order quantity, intended launch window and sales channel if known. These are planning inputs, not a guarantee that any volume or deadline can be accepted before feasibility review.
Agree what the next step should deliver
The first discussion should identify missing information and define the next deliverable, such as a clarified brief, quotation scope or sampling plan. Record assumptions so both teams are working from the same information.
